13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson- and other books.

I actually read this one last weekend, but this is the first chance I've had to blog about it. 13 Little Blue Envelopes is a cute story with a great little premise. It's another of the young adult novels that I checked out of the library, after having it on my wishlist at paperbackswap forever. Ginny is 17 years old, and not much has happened to her. Her favorite aunt Peg dies suddenly, and leaves a scavenger hunt of sorts for Ginny to follow. She travles (alone) to England without the aid of a map, cellphone, computer, etc. From there she takes planes, trains, ferries, bikes, and scooters all over the remainder of Europe following her aunt's directions. I enjoyed the book and read it in one sitting, more or less. I have a few quibbles with it, but they are minor and the story wouldn't work without them. I'd read more by this author for sure. This is the first time I've had a real problem with my rating system. It's definately more than a 3, but not quite a 4, so I've decided to add halves. 3.5/5.

This week I've picked up and started quite a few different books. I haven't really settled on any one book and haven't finished anything else. I still have a good portion of today and all day tomorrow to get some reading done. My husband went to watch the race and have dinner with some friends so I have the Monkey alone tonight, and again tomorrow as my husband does not have the day off. We'll see what gets read.

In other news, I got a new car this week, and have spent a little more time than usual on the road. The new car is a (used) 2007 Ford Freestyle and it's so lovely and nice, by far the nicest car I've ever owned. It makes me feel spoiled.

  2. I have this book on my TBR list.

I see you are reading one of the Rachel Morgan books. I just recently acquired the first four through Bookmooch and am looking forward to reading them whenever I can fit them in.
