Randomness

Has anyone else seen this? I'm not sure how I feel about an 8th Harry Potter, even if it's not part of the storyline. While is is cool to see the rest of the details, it doesn't seem like a neat ending. It's the "we can still be friends" of breakups. I still need to re-read books 5 and 6 in preparation.

I'm reading The Westing Game for the Newbery Challenge. I'm over half through and really could care less. Good thing it's short.

I still need to decide on one more Southern title for the Southern Challenge.

If you came to see me last Thursday and I never made it back to see you, I'm sorry. I hope to be more friendly this week. In a related comment, can I just say how many tries it takes me to get letter verification correct on typepad accounts?

I went back to the library yesterday. I've suddenly become addicted to young adult novels. I have The Westing Game, Gathering Blue, A Mango Shaped Space, One of Those Hideous Novels Where the Mother Dies, The Silent Boy, I Am the Messenger, 13 Little Blue Envelopes ...

I am so ready for a vacation. 2nd week of June!

  1. I absolutely loved A Mango-Shaped Space when I read it a few years ago!

  2. I love young adult novels. Some good writing going in that genre. And, I wish it had been happening when I was growing up.

  3. I love YA novels, too. Did Lois Lowry write The Silent Boy? I have a goal of reading 100 YA novels this year. Don't know why, but it'll be fun trying.

  4. Camille, Lois Lowry did write The Silent Boy. It looks interesting, and quick (which is getting to be more and more important the more books I aquire!)

  6. I read YA before I read my own adult books :)
I really like The Westing Game, but I'm a mystery reader. Plus, I was looking at it as a book to teach to kids. Really interesting is a site that shows the author's notes and such. Can't find it right now, but you can google it.
