An univited guest..

Today the boys and I were home alone all day while my husband worked. It was a mostly good day- we went to the library (more on that tomorrow) and then watch TMNT all day. (If you don't know what this is, lucky you.) The Bug decided that he didn't actually need a nap and by the end of the day we were all pretty ready for him to cave. Just before Mike got home, there was a commotion in the hallway and I discovered an unwelcome guest hanging out with the cats.

I quickly contained the guest. For his own protection, you understand. This is an empty cookie dough bucket, topped with a package of books I need to mail (sorry, Gina), topped with a laundry basket.

Once Mike got home, he was released into the wild. This picture was taken after I squealed and ran in circles shaking the heebie jeebies off.

  1. Cool. We have a lot of snakes, around here. I've had to remove one from the house, too. Fun, fun. :)

  4. Oh my gosh! I would have squealed, too! It's bad enough when I see them outside. By the way, my son is 21 and I know what TMNT are.

  5. Yes, Natasha, IN THE HOUSE.

Anyone got suggestions on how to keep them out?

  6. Oh no! No, no, no, no, no. That is so wrong.

My house would have a For Sale sign in front of it and it would be vacant.

We had a snake in our garage at our old house... What does it say about you if you're on the way to church and you see a serpent slithering toward you as you round the car?

  9. O my gosh. That is scary but cool. We've only had a squirrel once which scared me a lot more than a snake would.

  10. There's no way I could deal with a snake in the house and that one is long!! We had a lizard in our guest room once that my cat had trapped, and let me tell ya, I KNOW the heebie-jeebie dance! I freaked, screaming and running down the hallway calling my husband to get his butt home NOW! He caught it and released it across the street. ICK!

  11. And I repeat, OMG.

The worst I ever had to deal with was a tree frog. Thank goodness he was cute.
