A new challenge! And my week ahead.

They say that if you do something 14days/21days/28days in a row it becomes a habit (# of days depends on who you ask.) I blogged 30 days in a row and it doesn't seem crazy to keep it up now. So I thought it was time to create a new habit. I'm gonna call it LiDiTaCha*. Or EaAThDaTaAl**. Or HiFaTo***. Or DoWeHaToTuOfThTvTo****.

Anyway. Here's the plan, it's a simple one: Every single night for the month of December that we are at home, we will eat at the table. (There are a few nights we'll be away for the holidays, those don't count.) This means I have to clear the table, every day. Even if it's cereal, we'll be eating dinner at the table. No more excuses. Who's with me? I can make us a cute little button! Come on, you KNOW you want another challenge!

I want to participate in that Mailbox Mondays thing, but I am too lazy to go find the icon. Here's what I got this week, all from Paperbackswap:

  • Salvation in Death by JD Robb
  • Pornology by Ayn Carrillo-Gailey (can't remember who had the great review)

And finally, The Week Ahead. (Lost my icon on this computer, too lazy to go find it). The Week Ahead is hosted by SheIsTooFondOfBooks.

Not so bad! I didn't do it all on the day I planned, but I did get most of it done. How'd you do? What your week this week shaping up to be like?

  1. Ha ha ha, I love all your new challenge titles. My family used to eat dinner together all the time, and I have to admit I miss it a lot. I'd be in, except I live alone and so there isn't much point in me eating alone at my kitchen table. Well, I suppose I could sit at the table and read instead of sitting on my couch watching tv or sitting at my computer putzing around while I eat, but that's about it.

  2. I ended "dinner in front of the TV" about 6 months ago. I got rid of all the TV trays after my daughter spilled milk on the carpet and did not tell anyone. Do you have any idea how bad spoiled milk smells once it is in the carpet? It smelled as if something died.

I went into a mini rage and we have had dinner at the table ever since. It's really so much easier and they eat better without the distraction.

  3. I LOVE Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging (and the rest of the series). Hilarious-don't-read-it-in-public-because-people-will-look-at-you-funny-when-you-have-a-laughing-fit stuff.

And it's a quick read, too, so really there's no excuse for not reading it. :)

  4. I am looking forward to reading your Advent Blog Tour post!

  5. We eat dinner at the table almost all the time. Special occasions are when we have a "Family Movie Night" or when Jase is out of town and I am beat.

You are doing awesome on your lists. Sure wish I could see the products. :) I can probably wait until Wednesday.

  6. LOL! Good luck. We seldom make it to the table, these days, for meals.

I haven't bothered to get the Monday Mailbox icon, either. But, Friday or Saturday makes more sense to me, for some reason. I have got to get my act together and keep track of what's coming in the door.

  7. I am so with you.... cleaning off my table..yeah, about that. LOL
    I'll do it.

  8. So far so good on eating at the table! I think it's already helping the Pirate to not be so much of a spaz about eating.

The table is 2/3 clear. The back 1/3 is still full of random stuff. One day I'll have the whole thing.

  9. We always ate at the table when we were living at home but my husbands family NEVER did. We were good for a while, but we've now gotten into the really bad habit of eating in front of the TV. No more when we have kids!! I understand completely where you are coming from!
