Freedom!

Happy President's Day!

I have the day off today but my daycare is open! For my Valentine's gift my husband went in to work late (he is usually out of the house no later than 6:30) and took the boys to daycare. I can't tell you how excited about this I am. A WHOLE DAY to myself!

I could read- I'm almost done with Kitty and the Silver Bullet and when it's done I get to start Bone Crossed. I'm about 120 pages into Lisa Kleypas's Seduce me At Sunrise for the TBR Challenge, which is on Wednesday.

I could sew- I have two little thank-you gifts to complete, and then I want to wrap up some crayon rolls for the shop.

I could sleep- The baby hasn't been sleeping well lately and a little nap would be lovely. Tho, last night he did sleep fairly well so I'm not really dragging.

I could waste the day on the internet. Nah, not doing that one.

What would you do with an entire day to yourself?

  1. I'm doing laundry, vacuuming and homework this morning and then going to campus this afternoon (the university is not observing the holiday, so Bart still has classes) and I'll be meeting with a professor.

  2. Sleep. Read. Eat what I wanted when I wanted. Sleep some more...

    LOL...

    Have a great day!

  4. Well, I just had 8 days to myself since hubby was out of town and we don't have kids...let me tell you, I shouldn't be left to my own devices for that long. I did some reading and was mildly productive, but I mostly laid around on the couch watching Gossip Girl and other brain candy TV shows that I never have the time or desire to watch when he's around. Hope your day is more fulfilling :)

  5. I would eat something really good, watch some trashy TV and then conk out on the couch with a good book.

Promise me you won't do laundry or clean! That is what I end up doing.

  6. LISA!!!!

My goodies came yesterday and I was SO excited and surprised to find 2 YA books and your wonderful, wonderful crayon holders. They are gorgeous! My daughter was absolutely delighted with hers! She's been coloring up a storm with it ever since. Thank you so, so, so much!!!

  7. I'm doing what Ti said not to do...or at least I will be as soon as I finish with Google Reader. So yeah, don't doing any of that boring stuff!

    I'll also read. :-)

Enjoy your day...that's such a sweet Valentine's Day gift!

  8. I would read and watch an old movie, maybe practice my flute and then practice my French (rosetta stone). My French accent is really bad, so it's much less embarrassing to do when I'm by myself.

Have a great day to yourself!

  9. Okay, that is the cutest picture ever.

Today I am trying to catch up on reading blogs. I got behind last week. Reading is always a good activity for a day off. Or watching movies. You might like to rent a movie you can't watch with the kids in the room, something R.

I hope you enjoy your day!:)

  11. I had a terrific day! I'll probably blog it tomorrow, cause that's what we do.

Sadly, it did not involve any reading!

Heather, I'm glad you got the package and enjoyed it!

  12. Beautiful picture of your boys!

Day off to myself? I'd take a long hot bath and bring a book. Probably take a nap and spend the rest of it either in bed with a book or wasting time on the internet.

  13. I would go to the library by myself! That is one of my favorite things to do when I'm "kidless" which is rare :)

  14. Oh that photo of your boys is just too hilarious. I can almost hear them giggling.

  15. Reading this after I've read some of your newer posts, looks like you had a pretty productive day. I tend to get really lazy when I have time to myself. I'm definitely a time waster. Or do un-fun things like cleaning because I feel guilty. :)

  16. I almost had a whole weekend to myself! Husband and children were to go off on a ski weekend; I was going to stay home because of foot issues preventing me from skiing. I went along at the end and had a GREAT time -- we all did. But still, the whole house, for 3 days ... very enticing.

And after doing tax chores, and tidying chores, it would have been read, read, read. I finished the latest Susan Elizabeth Phillips, the latest Dean Koontz (yes to the first, no to the second). And I just finished a "sci-fi" kind of book -- almost more science faction, if you will: Resonance by A.J. Scudiere. End of the world-ish scenario that's very engaging. I loved it -- it's an action-packed thrilled I couldn't put down. And now I'm on to a Stephen Frey book, the name of which completely escapes me. Sorry...
