Read-a-thon, update number four
Where were we? The boys are all three sleeping (what are the chances??) and I finally got to read some more.
Here's my stats:
Books read: 1- The Missing Ink by Karen E. Olson
Pages read: 299
Time spent reading: who the hell knows?
Mini-challenges done: 1, kinda
Blogs visited: 2
Realizations had: 1- I forgot to buy snacks. I am scrounging. Cheese stick anyone?
Yeah, I suck.
Unfortunately, we still have a family party to attend tonight so even though the house is finally quiet, I have to go get ready. I am hoping that by the time we get home the boys will be ready to crash and I can read into the wee hours with the rest of you.
How's everyone else holding up?

Enjoy yourself at the party! I hope you enjoy yourself. =)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work! Can you sneak a book with you to the book and maybe make several trips to the bathroom? Or, ask your host if they need anything at the grocery store so you can read in the car? :)
ReplyDeleteI had cheese sticks earlier...there's nothing wrong with cheese sticks! Although the chocolate cake at chris bookarama's blog looked MUCH better!
ReplyDeletecongrats again on finishing the book!
ReplyDeleteAnd enjoy the party...you'll be able to read when you get home.
I'll be doing all of my cheering once the little man crashes, because he only took a 15 minute power nap today, for the second day in a row. I thought this wouldn't happen for another year - he's not even 2 yet! You don't suck. You've read over 200 pages, while watching your kids. Read in the car while they're all strapped in!
ReplyDeleteYou don't suck! Rock on!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress so far, enjoy the party, a nice little break, then curl back up with another book!! You are doing really well!!! But no snacks?!?!? Oh my!! Get some, quick!! You need your energy to keep on reading!!! =) Happy reading!!
ReplyDelete299 pages is nothing to sneeze at with 2 little ones running around! You're doing great.
ReplyDelete299 pages is great! But I know, it's so hard to keep track of actual time spent reading.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your party tonight! I like Melissa's idea of sneaking in a book :)
Holding up pretty well. Have a great time. Get some snacks!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing a fabulous job! Have fun with your reading.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you are doing the read-a-thon with small beings around gives me hope that i could do it as well. Hope you can read after or during? your event.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to buy something to drink and apparently I have nothing in the fridge!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy what reading you can manage to sneak in!
I hope someone was able to get you some snacks. Way to hang in there! Over halfway through - keep it up!
ReplyDeleteIt's astounding, time is fleeting
ReplyDeleteReading takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
You've almost met the goal
I remember doing the Read-a-thon
During those moments when
The blackness would hit me and sleep would be calling
Let's do the readathon again...
Let's do the readathon again!
It's just a book in your hand
And then a flip of the page
With your eyes on the words
You let your mind engage
But it's the cheerleaders that really drive you insane,
Let's do the readathon again!
Your book is dreamy, or hot and steamy
It stars a banshee, or no one at all
It’s in another dimension, there’s no comprehension
Oh no, there’s none at all
With a bit of a page flip
You're suddenly on a space ship
And nothing can ever be the same
You're strung out on cookies, you sound like a Wookie
Let's do the readathon again!
Well I was strolling through the bookstore just havin’ a look
When what should I espy but my next book
It shook me up, it took me by surprise
It had a sale tag and Care gave it 5 pies.
It lured me in and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
Let's do the readathon again!
I'm popping by to offer some cheering! Give me an R! Give me an E! Give me an A! Give me a D! What does that spell?! Read! Read! Read!
ReplyDeleteAwww-I hope you find some yummy snacks! :)
