Random Friday, only 35 days til Christmas!

Everyone have a good week?

I signed up for the Virtual Advent Tour again this year, I had a lot of fun writing last years post and am already planning one for this year.

I think I need this necklace. Doesn't it remind you a lot of my shop logo? (in the right sidebar)

The espresso machine at Starbucks was broken this morning. I was SO disappointed. Every Friday I go pick up donuts for work and as a treat for not buying fancy yummy coffee all week I treat myself to a latte. But it was broken today. I think this means I can buy myself coffee at the library tomorrow, no? (PS. Library, if you're listening, I hate to say it but your coffee isn't consistently good.)

Speaking of tomorrow, Mike is doing inventory so I will be looking for things to do with my kids. I thought I'd take Infant Bibliophile's suggestion and make a gratitude/thankful tree. What else should we do? (Cheap being the first descriptor word, please.) If the weather is nice we might try to run to the park.

Tons of sewing going on lately, including this personalized banner:

I am loving that striped tie at the top.

I have learn how to take better pictures in this South Dakota winter. Every room in my house is dark and dreary. I hate to use the flash, but sometimes you can't help it.

Shop Update: I'm trying to push hard to have a lot of new stuff in the shop on "Cyber Monday" (the Monday after Thanksgiving.) To that end, I listed several new crayon rolls this week, including two new fabric patterns- Dinosaurs and Kitties. This weekend I'll be making wallets and a couple jewelry bags, I hope. If you've been thinking about having something custom made, please order by December 1st so I can be sure to have it to you by Christmas!

  1. How can it be so close to Christmas already? Maybe you and your guys can make cookies tomorrow.

  3. Hope they like the grateful tree. I'll email you another easy craft my little guy loved this week. I haven't gotten around to posting about it yet.

  4. Ooo. I like Kathy's idea of cookies. And then send some this way please. LOL! Have fun with whatever you and the boys decided to do today.

  5. I LOVE that necklace and think you should either put it on your Christmas list, or buy it for yourself. It's perfect for you! Did you see the matching earrings?

Baking is a great suggestion. Cookies, muffins, or even homemade bread. You can give the boys small pieces of dough to knead and shape.

    Have a great weekend. :)

  6. I guess the necklace is sold out now. Hope your Hub picked it up for you before it sold out!

I am a horrible activity person for children. Baking is fun but I often do not enjoy the mess it makes or the calories that I consume afterward. When my kids were younger we liked to build forts. Turning chairs over and pulling out blankets and then 'camping' inside with a few snacks seemed like bliss. Even to me.

Magazine collages are cool too and the Bug could be the spotter and the Pirate could be the cutter-outer. It's fun to see what they choose to showcase.

  7. Hi Lisa. Hate to hear about your dreary dark weather because that is what I am in for up here. I like the sign. Very cute. Still haven't read a book yet:(

  8. Wow, you are so crafty! Nothing I make could probably live up to your standards for the Pay It Forward. (Thanks for joining in!) Love your photo.

  9. Love the idea of a grateful tree. I keep saying to myself 'this week, we're going to do some baking/arts and crafts' and it never seems to happen. Especially as things are always a bit crazed with Oldest' birthday (this Saturday!)
