Remember how I said it had been a bad week? Today we took the Bug to the ER for a possible seizure. The CT scan showed all normal, healthy brain. We're to call for follow up appointments tomorrow. Anyway.
CRAPPY WEEK.
Edited to add what happened: He fell a very short distance and bumped his cheek. He got up crying and did that thing he does where he screams til he holds his breath and then passes out. He has done this before and while it's freaky, it's not scary. This time though, we he would normally come out of the faint he had what appeared to be a seizure. It lasted long enough for me to send the neighbor's kid over to get his dad (Mike was not home) and for the dad to come over and us to call 911. At least 2 minutes, perhaps a bit more. So we went to the ER.

Oh Lisa!! I am so sorry! What a nightmare. I hope that you get everything figured out and that he's fine and healthy!!! My thoughts are with you!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what is it with the seizures this week? My good friend and book blogger Cari at Book Scoops just took her daughter in for a seizure this week too. Oh man.
Oh my goodness, that would be so scary! I hope that this coming week is better for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I will definitely be praying for you. How stressful for you and confusing for him. Let us know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been around much lately, but read back to see that you have had H1N1 at your house, too. UGH! You're getting put through the wringer this week.
I'm so sorry, Lisa! What a nightmare! I'm thinking of you and your son.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hugs to Bug!
ReplyDeleteThat is so scary! I hope it all turns out to be just fine.
ReplyDeleteI hope and pray everything's okay. I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time right now. Don't forget to take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteVery scary! Hope everything turns out well today.
ReplyDeleteOh geez! You really have been through the ringer. Is Bug running a fever like the Pirate? Not that any seizure is a good one but a febrile seizure is at least marginally less scary than other kinds to me. I hope everyone feels better soon and no more scary episodes of any kind allowed!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how scary that would be! Praying that everything is OK.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone. It was scary. This morning he seems his normal self.
ReplyDeleteHere's what happened, if you missed my edit:

Oh, poor Bug. I hope he's okay.
ReplyDeleteI feel so badly for you, Lisa. Weeks like the one you're going through are so trying. I'm thinking of all of you... sending positive vibes your way.
Oh that's terrible! I'm so sorry you had to go through that! Thinking good thoughts for you and Bug!
ReplyDeleteO my gosh! Poor Bug and you! I hope he is ok and you have a way better week this week. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteAgh! I hope everything goes better for you all this week!
ReplyDeleteStill in my thoughts and prayers. Just what you needed - something else to worry about. HUGS
ReplyDeleteThinking good thoughts for you and Bug. I've been there.
ReplyDeletePoor kiddo; poor you! I wondered if it was febrile too. My son does that thing where he holds his breath, and we call it the "silent cry." Like, you know he's really really mad if you get the silent cry - mouth open and no sound. It must be scary when he passes out from it though. I hope the seizure is a freak one-time thing with no damage. You're the 4th blogger I know with kids with seizures this week.
ReplyDeleteIncredibly scary.
ReplyDeleteWow! Scary stuff! I hope everything is okay now!
ReplyDeleteHow's he doing now?
ReplyDeleteLisa, I am so sorry for your crappy week. I am so glad that he is okay.
ReplyDeleteHere's wishing you don't have to go through a week like this again!
This is definitely scary! I hope all is well now. I am saying prayers for you all!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your son. I know how you feel. It totally sucks. Glad to hear his CT scan was normal. That's good news.
