Random Friday, on Friday.

I was gonna post a week 32 picture but I am too lazy to go have someone take it.

I'd post a picture from my camera, but I am too chicken to test it and see if it's broken. Why would it be broken? Cause it lives with The Bug.  See also: chocolate covered donuts found in battery charger.

Work is insane. Mike and I are both completely exhausted. Can my kids come spend the night with you?

I took the boys to the library last weekend and what started out pleasant made me crabby by the end. WHY do parents believe that they can just turn their children loose to roam? We had a very small girl, younger than the Bug, follow us all over the place. In the end she upended the boy's fancy coffee shop drink/treat into the Bug's stroller. My back was turned, of course, because I was actually WATCHING my children. Her mother showed up from somewhere and took her away, but didn't say a word to me. Thanks, lady.

Speaking of the library, I updated my library loot over there in the left sidebar.  I've also decided to try and concentrate on just a small number of books at a time for a while. Currently this means Forget You by Jennifer Echols, The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun by Gretchen Rubin, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) by J.K. Rowling (re-read) and a re-read of an old Nora Roberts.

Do the stupid Amazon.com links show up on top of the text for anyone else when they are writing their posts?

One day soon I will post about what I've been sewing, and also pictures of my new (to me) sewing machine. Just not today.

Whoops, just ran out of time, again! Enough randomness for this week, no?

I am an Amazon Associate. As such, any purchase you make at Amazon.com after following a link from this blog will earn me a (tiny) percentage back as income. Thanks.

  2. Deep breaths. Post when you can, but you aren't obligated.

Yes, wandering children drive me insane.

  3. *groans in frustration for you* That happens at our library ALL THE TIME. Not so much our local branch, but I swear, at the Main branch, parents just set their children free to wander and run and SCREAM, and they just use the computer and pay absolutely NO friggin' attention to what their kids are doing (can you tell I was at the Main branch today??!?!?!?!?). If I were a librarian, I'd be the most hated librarian in the place. Either that, or I'd be a librarian for a day and then be shipped off to Sing Sing. I don't know how they take it, or WHY they take it. So frustrating.

  5. Ugh..How rude that the mom didn't at least apologize but I guess what do you expect when she isn't watching her kid in the first place?

Yay to Harry Potter. I just reread the 3rd book myself. And I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Happiness Project as it is one that I've been wanting to read.

Hope you are feeling well :)

  6. Trust me, irresponsible parents upset the library staff, too! I'm interested to hear what you think about the Happiness Project book. Hope things simmer down a little bit so you can find time for some much-needed rest!!

  7. I really think that I am a resonable person most days, but lately I have been so irritated with parents in general.

Your library incident reminded me of the two little girls in the booth next to us at a restaurant we recently visited. The younger one kept hitting me in the head. The older one was trying to stop her and what was the dad doing? TEXTING. He was completely oblivious.

Do you have your baby post all written up ahead of time so that your husband can just fill in the blanks and hit send? You are getting pretty close now.

  9. Looks like maybe things aren't any better this week? I just realized that no new posts from you. :(

Good news? ONE WEEK! When am I going to see you? And can we go to the quilt shop in Hill City? Pretty please? :) I don't know what our agenda is going to be--probably mostly riding, but you know we'll get together sometime.

Also, I think it's all the links that do that with the new editor, not just Amazon. Drives me CRAZY. Sometimes I just don't add the links until after I'm done with the post.
