My ten would be:
- Milk
- Butter or margarine
- Eggs
- Bread
- Peanut Butter
- Pasta of any shape
- Canned beans
- Tortillas
- Cereal
- Coffee
So tell me, what are your ten pantry staples? Are they significantly different from mine?

flour, sugar, cereal, oats may also be on my top...after the milk, eggs, bread, butter, and pasta!
ReplyDeleteMy top ten:
ReplyDeleteAlmond Milk
Butter
Eggs
Cheese (preferably sharp cheddar)
Bread
Pasta
Corn Meal (Grits)
Apples
Popcorn
Canned Tomatoes
With these I can do omlettes, french toast, grilled cheese, cheese grits, pasta and sauce, pizza bread, pasta w/butter, eggs and toast, and probably even more.
I almost listed brown rice but unless we have something good to go with it then I can skip it.
Oh totally the same things on my list except I would add cheese. I have to have some kind of cheese in some kind of form all the time.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty close to mine! I wouldn't have beans...mine would probably this:
ReplyDeleteMilk
Butter
Eggs
Cheese
Ham
Bread
Apples
Mandarin Oranges
Popcorn
Pasta
should about cover it. We have to have fruit and popcorn for the kids!
Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI eat 75% of my food at work so my "pantry" staples at home and work are different.
Strictly at home?
--Coffee
--Creamer
--Eggs
--Milk
--Butter
--Rotel
--Beans (baked beans)
--Pasta
--Spag Sauce
--Cheese
I can almost always count on having those items--though sometimes the milk will go bad.
For work? Bagels and cream cheese; Oatmeal (though don't eat now that I'm eating bagels); bread; salad dressing; bananas/fruit; yogurt.
Ladies, how could everyone forget the most important staple--- CHOCOLATE!!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about 10, but one thing I have to have is canned diced tomatoes!
ReplyDelete1. Butter
ReplyDelete2. Cream Cheese
3. Eggs
4. Sour Cream
5. Peanut Butter
6. Rice
7. Dried Beans
8. Chicken
9. Tortillas
10. Cheese
I'm one of those people who always has a well stocked kitchen. My friends call me all the time for a spoonful of this, a cup of that ... and I just about ALWAYS have it.
ReplyDeleteMilk
Eggs
Butter
Coffee
Bread
Cereal
Oats
Deli meat (turkey/ham)
Cheese
Pasta
Rice
Apples
Olive Oil
Ice cream
Oops! That's more than 10... :o)
Great list. I would also like good cheese and cans of good quality tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteMust haves:
ReplyDeletemilk
butter
eggs
flour
sugar
oats
pasta
bananas
cheese - gotta cheat here (must have sharp cheddar & parmesan
tortillas
My son is allergic to bread, milk, eggs, and butter, so we have a different list! ;) Though of course we use substitutes, like soy milk. I just tried to make a list, but I couldn't get it down from 15 or so. I'd definitely add rice and potatoes to your list, since we eat them pretty much every day. And I panic if I don't have microwaveable chicken nuggets in my freezer. I need to be able to feed my son in 30 seconds if I need to! lol. Food allergies make life complicated.
