Random Yesterday

  • Hey! Did ya'll hear? Yesterday was Friday! Whoops.
  • And Christmas is only two weeks away.
  • Did I tell you guys about my $8 Christmas tree? Really nice looking fake tree from the thrift store for $8! SCORE. (Also, $2.50 cowboy boots! Can not WAIT to wear them!)
  • I have two days off between now and Christmas (the 16th and the 24th.) I work until Midnight all the other nights.  Then I get up and watch kids all day. *yawn*
  • I have bought one gift. I have sewn none.
  • The Bug swallowed a coin this week. I called Poison Control, since I couldn't get through to the clinic (AT&T's fault, not the clinic's.)  They said I had to have him x-rayed in case it were a penny. We waited 24 hours to see if it would uh, reappear, and it did not. So Mike took him in last night where they x-rayed him and determined it was a) not a penny (likely a game token) and b) safely in his stomach. $100 copay for the priviledge of waiting for him to poop. Merry Christmas!
  • On a related note, apparently he charmed all the nurses and they kept having to go back and "say hi to the cute little boy."
  • One of my two BFFs from high school (yes, we're still friends now) is having her first baby in the next week. I haven't made her anything yet either and I feel guilty.
  • I should be sewing now instead of blogging!
  • Or cleaning! My house is disgusting.
What I Read This Week:
  • Salvation in Death by JD Robb. These are so compelling while I'm reading them, but afterwards they all blend together. This is not a bad thing.
  • Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie and Claire are finally married!

  1. Stores are open until midnight? Who shops at that time of the night.

The joys of kids. When my sister was in the 3rd grade, she stuck a button up her nose. My mom couldn't get it out and had to take her to the ER.

  3. Hang in there! Twice I found pieces of balloon in my kids diapers. Had no idea where he got it and scared to death he could have got it stuck in his throat and not been able to breathe. Kids!

    Congrats on the great finds!

  4. I'm feeling as behind as you are. I know it will all come together one way or another. My house is a mess also-so what am I doing; reading and blogging in the toasty warm basement.

Don't you love our insurance rates...$100 copay! Crazy. Good thing you got such a fantastic bargain on your tree and boots.

    Happy Holidays.

  5. LOL to the coin story. I can't say that any of my kids have swallowed a coin yet but that doesn't mean anything :) What's the difference with a penny if I may ask? And I cleaned today and my house already looks a little bit dirty. Ugh!

  6. Oh my! Quite a lot of goings-on at your house! Glad the kiddo is safe with his game token. I am in much the same Christmas boat. Ack!

  7. Princess looks so pretty!!!

And ugh. I'm so tired of the "I should be doing this..." Self-cleaning house. Right?! I only have one more load of laundry left to finish from yesterday but when I got up this morning I noticed how HUGE it was. Will take two loads now.

  8. The Girl aspirated a fuse bead that caused one hell of a lung infection. Had to be removed surgically...3 days in the hospital trying to get a pediatric ENT to do the surgery = FUN! So I can relate to the coin trauma.
