- It was a very trying week, so happy it's Friday.
- I'm enjoying a quiet day with just the Bug and the Princess.
- Speaking of the Princess. Guess who still doesn't sleep? She takes four solid naps a day, broken up by 4 hour stretches. Think about that. (Edited to add: Yes, we've tried _______. She takes two naps a day, then sleeps from about 9pm-midnight and then from about 3am-8am. Occasionally she'll skip that early evening nap, and sleep from about 11 to about 7am. She still wakes once in there to complain.)
- I'm looking for some good FREE kid's apps for iPhone. Any suggestions?
- Mike is off this weekend (WHAT??) and while we have some plans I'm really looking forward to it.
What I read this week:
Split by Swati Avasthi. Good grief I can't remember that name long enough to type it. Barely started, but nervous already because of the bookstore scene.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. Enjoyed most of it, the world is terrific. Felt it bogged down in the last third.
Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality by Donald Miller. Highly recommended by a good friend.
It's helpful for you during the day for her to get those naps but you gotta get some sleep too!! Maybe wean her off of one of those naps. You know, cause it's so easy to do. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave fun this weekend!
I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, I had one who did not nap and didn't sleep much at night. I'm with Ti, try and get her down to three naps and maybe she will sleep better at night. Or, shorten her naps by waking her up. Both not great prospects, but just remember this too shall pass!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Wish I had some ideas for the sleeping patterns. Greyson (now almost 2) sleeps great through the night but inevitably wakes up between 5 and 6. No matter what time I put him to bed. Killing me!
ReplyDeleteWe have five folders full of games on my iphone... it's hard to remember which were free. What kind of things are you looking for? Ones that don't require reading? My son's recent favorites are pbs kids (cartoon clips of shows like Sid the Science Kid, Dinosaur Train, etc.) and Talking Tomcat (repeats whatever you say to him in a funny voice. For some reason, this brings kids to hysterics). I think Falldown is neat. Blastmonkey is mindless fun. There is a lego minifigures app that might be free. Ipuzzlewords is good for beginning readers.
ReplyDeleteOh my....my oldest was a bad sleeper so I feel your pain. I don't think that he slept through the night until he was at least one :( I'm going to be honest...I would cut her down to one nap just to keep her really tired at night. I'm guessing you would do that if she wasn't completely cranky so instead I'm going to just sympathize :? Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDelete:( I hope it's a good weekend for you. Are you still doing the job?
