- Post candy sugar coma.
- I am toying with the idea of starting a book club. I need to ask the library if we can use their meeting room first, my house isn't big enough.
- I'm ready for the election to be over. At some point I'll just stop going back to Facebook and Twitter, cause it's so annoying. I can not imagine that there are any undecided people left online. You are all preaching to the choir. (Not YOU, "you".)
- We had a series of doctor's appointments this week. The good news: my appointment gave me the all clear. The bad news: The Bug has to go see a dermatologist in Sioux Falls for a weird arm lump. It doesn't seem serious, but it does seem like a pain in the you know what.
- The Princess and the Bug have started asking to wash dishes every day. They think it's the most fun EVER. I just wish it actually got my dishes clean. My floor is awfully clean tho.
- This will come as no shock, but the list is kind of stressing me out! But you know, I went back and read my original post on the personal challenge, and I never said I'd do it in a year! So I think I'm going to cut myself a little slack.
- I do still want to read Janssen's best of 2011 this year, because you KNOW she's about to do a best of 2012 and I can't get behind!
- And then I reviewed my goals for the year and am pleased to say I'm actually doing pretty well on those too.
- I have not officially joined the Bleak House Read a Long, but I did convince my BFF to read it. She owes me, since I read David Copperfield for her 20 years ago.
- The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Finished this one up. That is one scary book. And I have no idea what to think about the ending! I might have to write a draft review and then go read some scholarly type reviews before I commit to posting.
- Sullivan's Woman by Nora Roberts. Guys. This was AWFUL. Review scheduled for Monday.
- Death Masks (The Dresden Files, Book 5) by Jim Butcher. I loved the first four in the series, but this one is just so ridiculous. I'm struggling. I hope if I get through it that the rest of the series will be great again.
- The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson. This is right up my alley.
It cracks me up that they want to wash dishes. As you well know, kids are eager to help until they can actually be of some help.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff! I started wondering why Greyson doesn't want to wash my dishes, but I feel better now that it's more floor than dish-effective. lol
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I read Death Masks, but I do seem to recall the series taking a bit of a hit around that time. Do keep reading The Dresden Files... I can't wait for the latest book to come out at the end of this month!
ReplyDeleteLoved, loved listening to The Bug and The Princess. The dishes may not be getting done but they are having so much fun and some much fun together!
