Random Friday for June 26

(I should really be numbering these or something)

I keep getting Graceling and The Hunger Games confused. I think this is because their sequels are Fire and Catching Fire.

My Friend Amy asks an interesting question- Who's Your Oprah? Whose book recommendations do you always take?

Despite having an Etsy Shop for a while now, I only just tried Paypal shipping this morning. WOW. Easy peasy.

Speaking of the shop, I spent one night this week making little promotional notepads for it. SO cute.

I still plan to subject you all to some vacation pictures, sorry. I just have to find time to sit down and look at them all. The top picture here is my brothers, their wives, my mom and all the grandkids.

It is 82 outside at 9:30am. The a/c is turned on so high in here that I have my space heater on in my office.

Our weekend plans are still up in the air. Tell me what you're doing instead.

  1. Oooh!--what is that "you may like these stories" thingy? I saw that somewhere the other day and wondered the same thing.

What am I doing this weekend? Certainly none of those things that have been on my to-do list for weeks. I'll be working. Still irked. :(

Are you talking about the little notecards I saw? I love it!

It's still in the 90s at 9:30 pm. So gross.

Have a good weekend--hope the thingies go well.

  2. I love the family photo! Your mom looks so young!

  3. I like "Who's Your Oprah?" Great question. Mine is the book blogging community--not one person, but many!

  4. Leaving a comment on my own blog to test my new profile picture!

  5. It's weird that the prequel to Graceling and the sequel to The Hunger Games have such similar titles. Maybe the publishers were hoping that people would get confused and maybe buy the wrong book?

Hope you had a good weekend!

  6. You are my Oprah. :) We went to a minor league baseball game last night. Tonight we are having friends over for a cookout.

  7. My "Oprah" - like jenclair said - is the blogging community. I kind of watch to see what books other book bloggers mention, and if the same book comes up a lot and gets good reviews, then I usually go with that.
