Random Friday, two more weeks

The children's section at my public library. I'm gonna miss that place.   The picture books are in bins all along the windows. The middle there is the juvenile books. Young Adult are out of the frame to the left.

The Bug just took his diaper off- withOUT removing his overalls first.  Quite the trick.

We FINALLY have a house in Pierre, yay! I have not seen it yet. This is slightly worrisome. We move in two weeks. (More about the house later.)

I decided to make a day bag out of some worn pillowcases from my grandmother's house. What do you think? The big floral is a heavier weight, so it'll be the outside. Can't decide between a slouchy tote style or a messenger bag style. In my free time. Or maybe this afternoon as a treat, if The Princess allows me to put her down.

This has been a tough week around here. While Mike has technically been in town all week, we haven't really seen him since Tuesday. Maybe Monday? He leaves before anyone else gets up and gets home right at bedtime. Or later. Wednesday night it was midnight. Well, I'm pretty sure he came home, someone came and slept in our bed for a while. They were gone again when I woke up.

This weekend I plan to find another adult to talk to, even if I have to follow the mailman around the block. What are you doing this weekend?

  1. I hope the mailman is a good listener. Craving adult conversation is one of the hardest hurdles of stay-at-home moms. I remember when I was working on my final graduate paper and my groovy girl was a wee baby, I'd type and rock her but the whole day would just be us. I'd talk my neighbor's ear off once in a while. The sheets will make a very cool bag-I vote for the messenger bag.

  2. I'm sure things will get better for you, but it can really be tough holding down the fort by yourself when you have little ones.

  3. I feel for you. Having a newborn is hard enough and then to put moving on top of it?

I like the fabric and I would make a messenger bag with it:)

  4. That does look like a great library! We have our bowling birthday party tomorrow - so glad I made it without going into labor. Why did I think it would be less work to do it somewhere else, though? I have a list a mile long of stuff to carry in.

  5. Two more weeks. You can do it. Fourteen or so days. One day at a time.

I hope you like your house, too.

    HUGS

  6. Oh do please have someone take a picture of you trailing the mailman. With The Princess in your arms. And The Bug and The Pirate trailing behind. Congrats on finding a house!

  7. You have a house??? Exciting! I didn't see the first house that we bought. Scott got it while I was in Dallas preparing for our wedding. A house is a house until you make it a home. Or we tell ourselves that, right? ;)

  8. Aww! I hope you did find someone to talk to. And I think it's a really great idea, making bags out of old pillow cases. Congrats on the house!

  9. HUGE congrats on finding a house. Kind of scary that YOU haven't even seen it, though, isn't it? I don't think I could trust my husband's house buying skills. Uh.. no way.

Your soon to be ex-library looks so SPACIOUS!

The Bug just took his diaper off- withOUT removing his overalls first. Quite the trick.

LOL! Kind of like taking off your bra without removing your shirt. You know you all have done that before! ;p

I'm in the minority and say that fabric would look great as a slouchy tote, although I do love messenger bags in general.
