Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix- the movie
Find out your Harry Potter personality at LiquidGeneration!
(really, is anyone who knows me at ALL surprised by this? Following the rules? Me?)
As I might have mentioned, I was off work on Thursday afternoon and went to see the new Harry Potter movie. The theater was full, but not sold out, and I got a great seat slightly off center. This is the first movie I've been to in 2.5 years and I went ALL BY MYSELF.
I liked it, a lot. I had just reread the book a week or so ago, so the comparisons are fresh in mind. They left out a lot of the fun stuff and condensed a lot of stuff down, but in interest of time I thought they'd do well. I wrote a long spoiler post here if you're interested, but be warned it spoils both the book and the movie.
Now I have 8 days to read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince before the last one. I might actually make it!

I might have to go see this one ALL BY MYSELF too. My HP loving friends don't leave near me!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the movie too, Lisa. My husband and I went to see it early Wednesday morning and although the theater had a lot of people, like for you, it wasn't full. And we also got good seats. :-) It was a fun movie--went very fast. I was worried I wouldn't like it because book 5 is my favorite of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteI'm Hermione too. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was my favorite HP book and movie, but I agree that they left out a lot. Hubby and I are re-reading 6 right now and were hoping that some of the gaps would be filled by the movie (we both read the book years ago when it came out), but still had a lot of questions...
ReplyDeleteI'm truly truly truly hoping that Sirius is not...well, you know. :) My heart broke during the book, and it broke again while watching the movie...
