Random Friday

SO glad I didn't have to shovel that! Thanks Mike and Don (my father-in-law)!

The lovely Alyce at At Home with Books has given me an award, thanks Alyce!

Mo, at Unmainstream Mom Reads has also given me an award. (Mo reads about 8 books to my 1. It's amazing.)

I'm really tired of LOST recaps all over the internets. You love the show, great. Don't show me 30 pictures from last nights episode. Either I saw it so I know what happened and we can just talk about it, or I didn't see it and I DON'T CARE.

I bought the yellow shoes!
My car is in the shop today having it's "My warranty runs out in 900 miles" checkup. It also needs new brakes. Cross your fingers that it isn't too expensive!

The thing I want this week is this pattern. I think I'd use that ALL THE TIME.
Fun new things happening on the sewing front, I will blog it all some time when I have time to post pictures.
We used the webcam on Frances last night to talk to grandma. The Pirate was not impressed.
I have finished TWO books this week with a third close behind. Wheeee!
What's your random thing for today?

  1. I'm glad to see you're enjoying Frances, even if she doesn't impress the Pirate.

  2. Oh I've been wanting to get a webcam to talk to my sister, brother, and nephew. I love the yellow shoes, such a good purchase :) And my random's raining here today (blah!) but tomorrow it probably won't (yay!) and daffodils are popping up all around my neighborhood. Yay!

  3. That's quite a bit of snow! I'm glad you didn't have to shovel it yourself either. :-)

    Congratulations on the awards!

I follow a couple of bloggers who recap LOST and so haven't been inundated with them. I enjoy the discussions about the show--reading the different theories. There is such a thing as too much though and I'm glad I haven't run into that myself.

I hope you enjoy your new shoes! I need to go shoe shopping. I need sandals for the spring. I hate to give up my boots, but it's getting to warm for them now.

I hope you have a great weekend, Lisa.

  4. I'm so sorry I haven't been around your blog for a long time. I haven't been blogging much myself, but I just wanted to drop by and say hi, wish you a good weekend and a nice Easter (if you celebrate that) and apologize for being scarce.

I am finishing my Master thesis and this takes up most of my time. Hopefully, by the end of May, I will be able to blog more and participate more around the blogosphere.

I am still reviewing books from time to time on my blog, but I am not really active.

I don't expect you to come running visiting and commenting, I just wanted to let you know that I am very much alive and I miss reading and commenting on your blog very much.

This is a personal message written to all the blogowner, whose delightful blogs I visit on a regular basis, but it has been copy/pasted. So if you find it on other blogger's blogs, that is why.

I look very much forward to be active again - and apologize once again for not being active the past month and not being able to be active for another month or two.

  5. Wow. I'm glad our recent snowstorms aren't that big.

We "talk" to both my parents and my in-laws every Sunday with our webcam. My kids love it and it's the best investment I ever made. We all love it.

  6. I felt the same way about The Bachelor. STOP WITH THE CRAZY RECAPS!

    Enjoy the yellow shoes :)

  7. I'm not sure it's quite 8 books to 1 - I think I'm just a little crazy for reading so much lol
