Random Friday

It appears to be taking 12 or more hours for my posts to show up in Reader. This is a new thing. Anyone know how to fix it?

I got my first check for 6 months of BlogHer ads. Whooo! It was: tiny. As in, would not buy dinner for my family at any restaurant that does not have a drivethru. Obviously I need to go to partial feeds so you guys have to click through. KIDDING.

I am obsessed with the idea of coffee milk and coffee syrup. However, it is not available in this part of the country. I don't know that I want to buy a case of 6 bottles before I know if I like it. Any of you live somewhere that sells it? Want to work out a trade for something we have here? I have no idea what that would be, but surely we could figure it out. Maybe I could make you something? Buddy you some PBS credits? Paypal the cost to you? Anyone?

Lilacs are in full bloom here. You can smell them just driving by in some places. I love lilacs.

We are camping this weekend so the weather is supposed to be cool and rainy. I'd say this means I'll get to read, but that's not really true. We smoked ribs to take with us, mmmmm. We'll be back on Sunday night.

Garden Update: One okra down, looks like a dog stepped on it. Zucchini and pumpkin are definately bigger than when I planted them. Strawberries are growing actual strawberries!

  1. What the heck is coffee milk? As you can see, I am obviously not your coffee milk connection. LOL.

When I drink coffee I hit $tarbucks because I am huge coffee snob. It's not that it tastes all that much better than other places but it's the atomosphere, the music, those happy baristas and the monthly book pick.

  2. Never heard of coffee milk either. Can't say it sounds appealing. How does the BlogHer ads work anyway--do you get $$ for people clicking on the ads or just on your blog? I've gotta say, I don't mind ads, but the banner ones are ick. :P

    Yay for strawberries and lilacs!

Hope you have a great weekend, Lisa.

  3. I know not what this coffee milk that you speak of is.

And yesterday I had a post take 9 hours to show Google Reader. But back to normal today.

  4. Ha! You're in luck! I live in Rhode Island, and we know all about coffee milk. (Personally, it's a YUK! for me - but I don't like any kind of coffee!) I'll send you a bottle of Autocrat Coffee Syrup. Believe it or not, it's our state's official drink (along with Del's Lemonade for the summer). I'm emailing you now.

  5. Google Reader is sometimes unbelievably slow. . . when it takes twelve hours, I want to die.

  6. Coffee milk and coffee syrup? Urgh. Good luck on that though, I know how it feels to adore something (American sweets) and not be able to get hold of it (without enormous shipping etc) I feel your pain. Even if we're talking about something that sounds incredibly gross like coffee milk.
