What a great weekend!

We had a near perfect weekend this weekend! That is a picture of me and Trish! How awesome is it to get to meet the people you most enjoy stalking talking to on the internets! But first was Saturday...

For the Pirate, Saturday was like his birthday and Christmas all in one. First thing in the morning, Mike too him to Target to get a scooter. We've been talking about it for weeks and finally the Pirate was interested, so off they went. They came home with this Spider-Man Scooter... and a GI Joe Ninja costume! On the way home, they stopped for a haircut, which the Pirate loves to do.

While they were out, the Bug and I did a little shopping of our own at yardsales. I found the highly coveted (by my boys anyway) Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Car for the low low price of about $10. I also picked up some frying pans for the camper, a Darth Vader mask, and a bike seat for the Bug- total money spent- $22.

Then, the neighbor's son, who is 7, was home and the Pirate convinced him to come play in our yard. The boy has amazing patience, as the Pirate insisted on showing him every single item in our entire home ("look at this scrap of paper I have!") We got Happy Meals for lunch.

Next, the Pirate's best friend's sister had a birthday party, so off we went to the best friend's house. There we found a herd of wild boys and they had a lot of fun with water balloons and squirt guns. There was pizza and cake and ice cream and watermelon. Once the party was over the Pirate was invited to spend the night (second sleepover ever!) which he did with no hesitation.

On Sunday, we picked him up about 9 am and headed up to Mount Rushmore, where we met TRISH and her husband, Scott. They are both very nice people and Trish is about as cute as a button. The Pirate was about as crabby as you'd expect a kid to be on a hangover from a day like Saturday, so we only spent an hour or so with them. We went home where everyone had a nice nap and I got to spend a good bit of time reading. I finished up Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen before we met up again with Trish and Scott for dinner and ice cream. The Pirate agrees with her assessment that she looks like a Power Ranger in her helmet and I think he might have a slight crush on my "friend who is a Power Ranger." (Sorry, Scott!)

Today I had to work, but we're going to ditch the kids after and meet Trish and Scott for dinner at the rally... if they aren't sick to death of bikes and noise yet!

All in all, a perfect weekend.

  4. Definately sounds like a great weekend! Elliot really wants a scooter. And one of the Cozy Coupe cars as well. We're holding out on him!

Was it weird at all meeting a blogging friend? It's never happened to me, I always think if it does happen it would be very weird.
