Library Overload!

Does it ever seem like every book you requested has come in at once? Usually the same week that you found a dozen other interesting books on the shelves?  Here's what I have at home right now (this is super long, but I decided to add the images because I love being able to scan other people's lists by picture instead of text). The first three have ONE WEEK holds! Yikes!

Have you read any of these?  Once I get past the ones with a ONE WEEK hold!, which should I pick up?

  2. Whoa! That is a bit of overload! I was JUST looking at my library list and thinking, "Ok, this is good. A break between the rush of holds." I vote for Henrietta Lacks. I totally want to read that book (it's one of my 'brary books on hold!) and would love to read your thoughts on it.

  3. That is a bunch of books to get read. I don't know how you do it - read, sew, take care of family. Good thing you are young. ;)

  4. WOW! That's a lot to read in one week. But I know what you mean - everything always comes in at once.

  5. That always happened to me - that's kind of why I've given up on the library. The only one I've read is The Magicians and it didn't work for me, so don't start with it.

  6. I know what you mean! I have a huge stack, too. The first two you listed are ones I also have. I think Henrietta is up next for me.

  7. I would say that you are going to be doing nothing but reading for the next few weeks!

  8. Dang! That's a lotta books. Henrietta Lacks is an amazing story, and very well told.

  9. I haven't read any of these, but I think most of them would interest me. Looks like you'll be reading for a while, but then if you're like me, you read to get away (since you can't really be away). I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on all these titles.

  10. Wow, that's a lot of books and I've not read one of them (or heard of many of them!). Have you joined in with Spring Time reading challege at Katrina's blog? I posted about the books I am going to try and read and put pics up too as I like the visual (rather than just seeing a list printed) ;-)

  11. That is A LOT of loot. And what incredibly awesome picks, too! I've had my eye on a few of those myself.

The Happiness Project sounds like something I could learn from and I know my library got it in recently, too. Have you taken a peek at it yet?

I've been in that position of library hold overload myself... and when they're new releases, they're due in two weeks only and you can't renew them if there's a hold list. So much pressure!! So now I only allow myself one two week book at a time. Unless the others are craft, how to, or cookbooks.

    Enjoy your loot! :)

  12. I stopped by your blog today. What an ambitious reading list. I'm reading the Help which was a selection for our book club and then I'll be back to my Deborah Crombie list of books - I love English mysteries.

  13. Great books! I have holds on three of them right now. Henrietta Lacks is the one I want to read most.

  14. Holy moly that's a lot of books! Well, you'd better read now--soon you won't have time to shower, let alone read! I think I should look for the one that could teach me to feed my family for $75 a week!

  15. That happens to me all the time! And they usually all hit right around the time I have a business trip or some other project. Good luck getting through them all!

  16. I got a bunch of books all at the same time a few weeks ago, it's so frustrating! I liked Henrietta Lacks a lot, but I'm also interested in The Happiness Project.

  17. It's funny - I work at a library and a lot of those books are on the hold shelves for patrons. :) Clearly you have good taste. I would want to read Half the Sky because I'm interested in supporting causes like that, but all look like good reads.

    Have a wonderful week!
