A Month of Gratitude
October was a very hard month for us at our house. I'm struggling a bit to keep my cool and get my balance as a full time mom, the Bug is having a hard time adjusting to life without Carol and the other kids, the Pirate is loving school, but he's having to learn that not everyone is a kindergartner (like say, The Bug.) It's hard, because we're breaking our little boy's heart by moving now, but soon it'll be done. The Princess (testing that one out) isn't crying nearly as much, but as any parent can attest, newborns are a lot of work. The move. The abrupt decrease in income! All three boys have colds, and I feel one threatening. Everything.
I want to try to keep in mind that things are going to get better. Soon. In less than a month we'll have moved to a new home and a new school. It's a fresh start, which some of us needed. So last night in the middle of the night when I say Lisa at Polka Dot Cottage's post about A Month of Gratitude, I thought perhaps that's what I need- to take a month, a HARD month, and make it about what I'm grateful for. In the middle of everything, can I find one thing a day that makes me grateful for my life? I don't take professional photos, and I'm sure my shots will stick out, but I'm going to jump in and give it a shot. (Hey, maybe my photos will get better!) I won't always post the picture to the blog, but I will add the flickr link in my sidebar. You get 7 pictures a week (and I'm not sure, but I think that if you posted two one day and none the next it would be ok), you should join us. If I can do it, you can do it.

You are amazing! With all you have going on you still have time to read and now take pictures too. WoW!!!
ReplyDeleteHa! It remains to be seen if I will carry through. I just get so mired in how tough my life is right now, I'd like it to be something that gets me to thinking about what I'm grateful for.
ReplyDeleteYou are working on seeing the positive and that will carry you through! I hope the move goes smoothly. We've moved three times and it is fun but never easy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! We've moved a lot and believe me, The Pirate will adjust very quickly - it'll be harder on you than it will be on him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! And it will be hard to remember the things you're grateful for when you've got so much going on in your life.
