RF: My feet hurt

..from kicking so much ass.

What?

Things I've done in the last day or so:
  • Turned around to see that happening! Noooooo!
  • Hung a wire across the wall in the boy's room to clothes pin all their art to. It's a little art gallery in there now.
  • Raised the curtain rod in their room and double hung a set of curtains. It gets nice and dark in there now.
  • Cut down a towel to surround the toilet and litter box in an effort to contain litter. If it works I'll buy two matching towels and make ones that look decent.
  • Cleared the garage as much as possible without a trip to the storage unit. Good news: the car now fits in the garage! Bad news: You have to climb out the window.
  • Saved the Princess from whatever corner she's backed herself into/couch she's half under, roughly 30 times a day.
  • Started making a skirt like this out of a orange/blue/white seersucker shirt.
  • All those pesky daily things like laundry and feeding my kids and keeping up with work.
  • Provided my kids with a fancy new car to play with:
Other things to note:

  • Both boys had birthdays this month and I failed to mention them. Oops. Happy Birthday boys!
  • I have found TEN ticks in our apartment/garage/driveway in the last week. I am seriously grossed out, and worried for summer.
  • It is impossibly hard to find a time to take my dog out to pee when I'm home alone with little kids and it's raining/snowing/70mph windy. It is also very hard to walk a 70lb dog on a leash while pushing a stroller.
  • The closing for the sale of our old house is today. It does not fund until next week. Stress levels are at an all time high as we wait for the other shoe to drop. Please oh please let it close without an issue.
Books Read This Week (or, more accurately, Books I'm Still Reading This Week):
  • Faefever: The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. You guys are gonna start thinking it's not any good if I don't ever finish it, but really, it IS. I just don't sit down to read a lot. I've really only been reading it in the car line at school.
  • Liar by Justine Larbalestier. I know something shocking will happen. But right now I just believe Micah.
  • River Marked (Mercy Thompson, Book 6) by Patricia Briggs. Ok, haven't started it yet, but have it waiting! I'll start it this weekend.
Whew. We have almost no plans for the weekend, which is a four day weekend for the Pirate. We'll take a load of stuff out to storage at some point, and hopefully hang our bikes from the ceiling in the garage. I'd like to continue working on some sewing projects- some little, some decidedly NOT little. Maybe read a bit. If the wind stops we might take a walk by the river. What do you have planned for this Easter weekend?

  2. Happy birthday to the boys!

No wonder you are tired. Just chasing the "Crawler" would be enough exercise.

The ticks should be gone as soon as it gets warmer and dries out, but that doesn't help now. YUCK and UGH. Sorry, I hate ticks. Have you treated your dog and cat? We use advantage brand only. We've tried some cheaper and/or other brands and they haven't worked. (Disclaimer: not paid or compensated in any way to say this.)

  3. You are a Superhero MOM!! I loved Liar by Justine L. (yah, can't spell her last name, you're right).

Hope you have a few moments to relax over the four day weekend and that it warms up for you!

It is still chilly here but no more snow. Yeah!

  5. Wishing you lots of warm thoughts. Wish I could push some of this hot air up there to you. Think we're going to be 90 today? And so humid you can cut the air. You're from Alabama--you remember what that's like! But in April?!?

Was the "Nooooooo" because baby girl is pulling herself up? New development?

Happy birthday to the boys. Poor Pirate looks a bit tired! ;)
