The Princess models the first of hopefully many mama made summer pinafores.
These are pretty much my ideal baby dress. I found one that my grandmother had made and traced around it to make a pattern. They are so quick and easy to make that I hope to make a half dozen more. Once it gets hot it'll be nice to wear something so light and breezy. Eventually I hope to make a few pairs of ruffly bloomers, for the days she feels like dressing up. There is another sweet baby girl with a matching dress, but she'll need to grow into it a bit.
I've also been working on a few refashions- shirts into skirts, shirts into a quilt, lots of goodness. Hopefully soon I'll have the time and pictures to show a bit of it to you.

Mama did a great job! The dress is adorable!
ReplyDeleteadorable!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO darling! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteSo full of cuteness, both the dress AND the model!!! Great work (on both, of course). I'd love to learn to sew better than I can, but it's so time consuming to haul the machine out (for me, at least) and go through the process of cutting and getting the machine set up, and figuring out what the heck I'm doing! Maybe one day. :)
ReplyDeleteI have an old apron of my grandmother's designed the same way, flipping over the back like that. I love the hot pink material.
ReplyDeleteShe looks adorable in it.
Well isn't she just the cutest thing!
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely adorable!!!! I wish that I could make dresses for my daughter :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's so much fun to sew clothes for little girls :-)
ReplyDeleteGood heavens you've been busy (commenting for this and last post). The dress is darling, and of course so is Princess. Hope your Mother's Day was really nice.
