Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen. I requested my library buy this one, so I'm at the start of the list, but I suspect the line after me is very long. I haven't read a Dessen in several years, but Janssen tells me this one is awesome.
Wild by Cheryl Strayed. I LOVED Tiny Beautiful Things (no, Trish, I have no reviewed it yet. I suck.) and Dear Sugar is my favorite podcast. This is the 3rd time I've checked this out and I'm not sure why I hesitate.
The Power of Habit by Duhigg. This one is an audiobook. I don't have high hopes that I will finish it before it expires because I've already started Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin and I don't want to read two books about habits at the same time. I'm enjoying Better Than Before, but it's not going super fast.
Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones. I FLEW through the first one and really should have waited before starting this. But I didn't. I'm about half done.
Slim by Design by Brian Wansink. I enjoyed Mindless Eating so much that I read it twice, so when I discovered this at the library I knew I had to read it too.
What are the next five books on your list? Do you have a pile of library books that absolutely have to be read?

I loved the movie version of Wild and promptly bought the book after seeing it. It's stuck in TBR purgatory, of course, but I will get to it one day.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hated Wild. Haven't seen the movie yet.
ReplyDeleteSomething about Strayed just doesn't work for me. I know lots of people who love her but she and I just don't click. Mindless Eating is on my TBR so I'll have to look for Slim by Design as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the habits books and I think I might have that one on audio already. Have I listened to it? No. I'm terrible about snatching up those daily deals and then promptly forgetting them. I have not tried Strayed. I'm just not sure I will like her stuff. Maybe one day. I'm going to Weight Watchers and so I don't really think I want to add another book about eating. Sometimes when I'm trying to eat better, I get kind of uber-vigilant and then become overwhelmed and deprived and just throw in the towel. I don't want that to happen. So, maybe Saint Anything - yes. That will be the one I'll add to my list. LOL
ReplyDeleteI do think there are some differences between Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things, but I just love her writing so much. Wild was tough for me to get into--the prose is very lyrical but once I was used to it I fell in love.
ReplyDeleteHmmm--what is Mindless Eating? And how have we not talked about that one yet?
