It's Delurking Day!
(I know, it's 8 pm, I just saw this!)
Delurk, leave me a comment telling me 1) your favorite desert and 2) one song that has either meaning or a specific memory for you. This can be "your song" with your S.O. or your senior song or even the song that was on the radio when you got your first car. On Friday, I'll draw a name for a little surprise from the pool of people who answered both parts.

I'm not 100% sure I qualify as a lurker, but I'll answer anyway :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dessert is cheesecake, and my song is "Every Little Kiss" by Bruce Hornsby & The Range. It's my & my husband's song.
I love all desserts - how can I choose one! My dad's red velvet cake is probably close to my fave.
ReplyDeleteAnd song? My song with my husband is "Go There With You" by Steven Curtis Chapman.
Happy De-lurking Day!
My favorite dessert is ice cream over any sort of carby thing - brownie/cake/cookie - with a little sauce over the whole thing. Mmmm, I love ice cream.
ReplyDeleteIn high school, I loved "The Authority Song" by Jimmy Eat World. Just made me feel free and alive.
My favorite dessert is cheesecake... but I am really don't have a sweet tooth and much rather have something salty.
ReplyDeleteMy senior song was "Party Like It's 1999". I graduated in 99.
Hmm. Let's see . . . My favorite dessert is a hot fudge sundae (today anyway--it changes regularly). :-)
ReplyDeleteSong wise, I am going to say "Russians" by Sting. That was my first introduction to Sting and it spoke to me like no other song during my middle school and high school years. I still think of it fondly--it was a constant reminder that we are all humans and while our beliefs may be different, we share so much more in common than we might think. Yeah, so I stretched a whole lot of meaning out of a song about the Cold War. It was an important song for me nonetheless.
Give me a good old homemade chocolate chip cookie anytime.
ReplyDeleteAh, but the song, that's much harder. There are different songs for different reasons and stories behind them all, but..... you just want a name (the pressure)... "Chevy Van." And now you now I'm old! LOL
chocolate cheese cake
ReplyDeleteand Bruce Springsteen Born to Run. that song gets me going every time!
To be fair, I haven't met a bad dessert, so I consider them all my favorite. But my ALL-TIME favorite is a warm gooey brownie and a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Love the hot & cold together.
ReplyDeleteSome of my best memories are triggered by the entire cd "Hello Nasty" by the Beastie Boys - it was my soundtrack to the summer after I graduated high school. Good times. Sigh.
My favorite dessert is NY Cheesecake with graham cracker crust and fruit topping, usually cherries.
ReplyDeleteThe song that has a connection with me these days is by Evans Blue "Eclipsed" It has sort of become the theme song of my novel.
Happy DeLurking Day!
in case you are interested, here's a not so great quality video of the band live playing eclipsed: http://www.last.fm/music/Evans+Blue/_/Eclipsed
ReplyDeleteI have been posting but not for long so maybe I qualify for delurking:) My favorite sweet is chocolate cookies! I have NO willpower against them. I really don't have a song (because I love all music) but I love the movie Beaches so I will pick 'The Wind Beneath My Wings'.
ReplyDeleteI'd never turn down a dessert (unless it had raisins in it) but cheesecake, particularly a chocolate one, is my favorite. Yum!
ReplyDeleteAs for song, I love so many so it's hard to narrow down. When I met my hubby, he played a CD of Neil Young songs over and over again. "Cinnamon Girl" comes to mind.
Favourite dessert? Anything. Cake, pie, icecream, brownies, cookies. I have a major sweet tooth. My favourite dessert as a child was always carrot cake though. My dad and I bonded somehow over carrot cake once. I don't remember the details but the feeling of it still stuck.
ReplyDeleteMy wedding song is Angels by Robbie Williams but any song from Sarah McLachlan's Mirrorball brings back memories of our early days together.
Hey there! I check in from time to time :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dessert is...hm...cherry cobbler. I lurve cherries!
My senior song was End of the Road by Boys II Men. Sigh...makes me goofily nostaglic.
My favorite dessert would be cheesecake...real cheesecake-baked not those easy set kind. (but I do love cherry cobbler.)
ReplyDeleteA song that always takes me back? Well that would be "Angel Eyes" by the Jeff Healy Band. That is the song that had my "first" (ever) dance with a boy. And also one of the first dances I had with my husband.
You asked some tough questions - I'm not much of a dessert person, so I would say fruit. For my song, I will say, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica - it's what they play when Virginia Tech's football team enters the field and the stadium is wild!
ReplyDeleteOOoo. This is a fun one. Well, my favorite dessert is a new one. There's a Korean frozen yogurt/ice cream thing chain here called Pinkberry and I got a pomegranate one with pomegranate seeds on it. So delicious! Now my favorite dessert.
ReplyDeleteAnd my song. Hmm. I've always loved Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, even as a little baby. Or any song by Roger Whittaker reminds me of my dad.
Happy De-Lurking!
I am a big big lurker! My favorite desert would have to be cheesecake - and if you have a little chocolate sauce to pour over it, even better! And the song is driving me crazy because I can't think of it! I had my sister sing it at our wedding - and it talked about "watching over me.. and every breath I took" -but it is not the Faith Hill song. You are gonna make me go watch our wedding video now!
ReplyDeleteI lurk frequently and post occasionally. I missed this yesterday but I'm here today. My favorite dessert is my homemade peach cobbler(Yum!) and a song with special meaning for me is "You Are My Sunshine" which my Mom used to sing to me as a small child and I now sing to my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI love Dan's Mother's homemade Chocolate Pie. I would do amazing things just to have a slice. 2nd favorite, her homemade Caramel Cake. A funny special song is "Thunder Balls". We listened to this going to every volleyball game at ASMS. Everytime I hear it I remember playing volleyball (badly) but having a great time doing it.
ReplyDelete1) Cheesecake
ReplyDelete2) "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Sir Paul McCartney
1) Tiramisu
ReplyDelete2) "Build Me Up Buttercup Baby" by The Foundations; it's been the song that can make me laugh and sing really loud to even in the worst moods, and now it's kind of life my song with my niece. :D
I don't think I'm a lurker anyway, but I'll answer, just for fun.
ReplyDeleteCheesecake, anything cheesecake. I could eat cheesecake til long after the cows come home.
Song...Forever and for Always, by Shania Twain. My husband, then just barely a boyfriend, called on the way back to his Army base in Louisiana, to tell me that he heard the song and thought of me. :) So that became our song. He heard it the other day in the store and told me about it (we got married in 2007). :D
My favorite dessert....um, dessert?? How can I choose just one?? I'm a sucker for brownies, and cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally dating myself here, but I can remember fond memories of dancing to OMD's If You Leave in high school....still love that song!
Hi! I'm sort of a new reader, but you've probably seen me comment here before.
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate layer cake!
I have so many favorite songs. I think my very first favorite song was something called "Dream Weaver." It had weird sound effects.
Anything Dark Chocolate! The song that has a lot of meaning for me is 'I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty. That song came out at the perfect time for me, the worst time of my life. It gave me strength!
ReplyDeleteLove any ice cream that has fudge in it. My song is I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen just because its my favorite.
ReplyDeletemy favorite dessert would be chocolate, ummm lovely chocolate! and my favorite song that i can right now think is Dust in the Wind
ReplyDeleteFave dessert: Fudge with nuts in it....yummy!
ReplyDeleteSong that has meaning: "Lady in Red"....I'm not sure why yet I have always loved this song!
Thanks so much!
