So today's Friday and I feel kinda like chicken with it's head cut off. I have a million things in my head that I need to do or check on or look up. I have a few tiny little snippets of things I want to post, none of which deserve a post of their own, so here goes:
- I finished a book! No! Really! Review to come. (Iron Crossed by Patricia Briggs.)
- Why have so many of my favorite blogs switched to a partial feed?? WHY? (Ok, so like 3, but STILL.) I understand that people have to come to your blog to get money off ads, but I was so much more likely to read the full post then click over to comment than I am to click over to read the whole post.
- Does anyone read the ending first? I've never done this and I have a bizarre need to try. It feels wierd though.
- My kid is obsessed with Star Wars, but his favorite is Obi Wan Kenobi. This is one way that we are clearly in a different generation, because wouldn't most of us have said Hans Solo?
- I've been obsessed with quilting lately.
- I've (almost) decided on the pink laptop. I think I'm gonna buy a big black and white "Life is Good" sticker to put on it.
- I wish the snow would melt.
.
I love those "Life is Good" stickers :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend and that you are able to regroup a bit. I am needing a break myself.
I love this pattern--I also saw that you were making a hidden 9 square (or something such), so I googled what that looked like and I love that too. Still on those Hawaiian quilts, though. :)
ReplyDeletePink Laptop!!! SO jealous.
I hate partial feed as well and would probably be more likely to hit "mark as read" without commenting
Reading an ending first always reminds me of When Harry Met Sally. I think I'll watch that movie this weekend.
Get warm soon--isn't it freakin' spring yet???
LOL--I now realize that my comment could have been a post of its own. Finding it hard to concentrate on this raining Friday afternoon when half the office is gone. Shhh...don't tell. :)
Ti, I love all the Life is Good stuff. I have a couple of the shirts too. It's expensive and indulgent, but I still love it.
ReplyDeleteTrish, The Hawaiian quilts look HARD to me! The pink laptop is a "netbook". It's TINY.
It is so not spring yet here.
Love the new quilt! I had partial feeds too. And I've never read the ending first, although I did look up the ending for one chunkster I was reading (Pillars of the Earth), because I had decided not to finish it if my favourite characters ended badly. It did feel weird!
ReplyDeleteDitto on the snow melting. Anytime now! :-)
ReplyDeleteLezlie
Aww, come on and join the dark side...read the end of a book first...you know you want to. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really loved obi wan. I'm not the norm from back in the day!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, Lisa! It's been crazy around here too.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the partial feed. Unfortunately with the partial feeds, sometimes you don't even get a hint at what to expect. If I'm in a hurry, I tend to skip over those, I admit.
I've never read the ending first. I don't see why you couldn't give it a try, if you want to thought. The worst that could happen is that you'll feel cheated out of the buildup of surprise.
I hope you are having a good weekend, Lisa, and get a little time to relax.
I loved Iron Crossed, even though what happened to Mercy near the end made me cry. Can't wait to see what you thought of it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about why people switch to partial feeds. I really prefer full ones in Google Reader, and will generally click through if I want to leave a comment. I'm less likely to click through a partial feed to read the full one honestly.
I only read the ending first on books I am hating and about to abandon, that way I know how it ends anyway :)
So if everyone hates them, I wonder why partial feeds are so common?
ReplyDeletethe snow is all melted!
