It's 6 am on Sunday and I was trying to decide if I wanted to get back in my bed where the Bug is sleeping or go ahead and have my coffee. The Bug got up to eat about 5, but miraculously went back to sleep (that never happens, he's a morning bug.) Then the Pirate woke up with a wet bed and is now in my bed too (with dry pjs.) Guess I'll go ahead and drink the coffee!
Oops, I hear the Bug talking, maybe I should rescue the Pirate from him.
Back later with the Sunday Salon. Maybe after it's light out and I'm not typing in the dark.
Haha--you're too funny Lisa. I think this is the first post that I didn't write with my name in the title. Wait, nope, none of mine have my name in the title either. :P
ReplyDeleteWell, even without kids I was up at 7:30, which is pretty early for a Sunday. I don't think it is the sleep that I'll necessarily miss, but most days I feel like I don't have time to do the things I need/want to do (ie cook dinner, clean the house, work out, READ), that I just can't imagine splitting that time up even more. I know that is incredibly selfish-sometimes I feel like I need to learn how to manage my life before I can begin mangaging the life of a little one (not to mention husband!!). Haha--that sounds complainy...not trying to be. :)
I hope you enjoy your coffee!!
It is very hard to be selfish and be a good parent. You can try, but you end up doing things half way. For example, right now I am blogging, but I have a pirate necklace on and a sword tucked in the back of my shirt and occasionally I saw ARGH! So I'm not doing either thing WELL.
ReplyDeleteFor all my grumping, they are excellent children.
Generally I am not a selfish person--depsite the things I might say. But I just haven't figured out how to do it ALL. Then again, I don't think one can do it all. Where do you find the time to do Lisa things (such as sewing or reading)? Today I'll do my Trish things in between cleaning, laundry, and cooking (all the gross things that my husband refuses to do--although he does all the gross things like oil changes, house maintenance and mowing the lawn).
ReplyDeletelately I'm not doing much reading, maybe a chapter a day?
ReplyDeleteSo far this am, I have fed the baby twice, made coffee, blogged a teeny bit, painted with the pirate (including painting 50 clothespins on one side), and spent a good 30 minutes looking for Capt'n Jack Sparrows BEARD so my child could play dress up. It was in the basket of DVDs. Swapped laundry once. Spent 45 minutes consolidating pictures so I can do my annual photo book without shooting myself. Am considering eating something myself. I have no idea what happened to the rest of the time.
Seems to me you did a lot this morning. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd silly Lisa, dress up beards are ALWAYS in with the DVDs. At least that is true in my house. ;)
